- The Czech mothers whose babies were swapped at birth have agreed to give their daughters back on their first birthday, reported the Daily Mirror. Jaroslava Cermak and Jaroslava Trojanova, 25, are planning to exchange their infants Veronica and Nikola on 9 December. They met in secret, after sacking a social worker who suggested they dig graves and symbolically 'bury' their daughters.

- A woman in Burnley, Lancashire, has given birth to record-breakingtwins who weigh almost 19lbs between them, said the Daily Mail. Theo,who weighed 10lbs 9oz, and Millie, who weighed 8lbs 3oz at birth, arethe heaviest mixed-sex twins ever recorded in Britain. Large newbornsrun in Beth Ryder's family - her four elder children all came in at over9lbs and Beth herself was 11lbs 3oz at birth.
