'Celebrity Big Brother' fever has hit the nation, but last week contestant Germaine Greer hit back at the TV producers for their bullying behaviour.
According to TheGuardian, Ms Greer claimed, '"Big Brother" was demonstrating the role of taunting in the playground, and there are so many children whose lives have been ruined by taunting in the playground.'
A combination of parental cosseting and a lack of practical teaching in schools has bred a nation of 'life-incompetent' children, according to a report in The Scotsman. A study of 1,200 schoolchildren by researchers from Stirling University has found that many of today's youngsters are unable to sew or wash clothes, or remember to boil potatoes before mashing them.
