A fireman from Surrey could face legal action for flying a Jolly Roger flag outside his house for his eight-year-old daughter's pirate-themed birthday party, reported the Daily Telegraph.

Mole Valley District Council has asked David Waterman, 41, to remove theflag after a neighbour complained that it breached planning laws. MrWaterman said that he is determined to continue flying the skull andcrossbones and is paying 95 to apply for advertising consent forthe flag, which cost 5.

Harrods department store has just sold the ultimate in baby bling for6,000 - a gold-plated pram, reported the Daily Mail. The pram isa converted Silver Shadow model by quality pram-maker Silver Cross andcomes complete with a fitted sound system and a blue satin interiortrimmed with ermine hair. It was bought by an un-named South Africanbusinessman last month. Its creators, Graham Richardson and AlisonMurfet, own a pram-restoring business in Holbeach, Lincolnshire.
