Mental health: Fathers are urged to call for help

The children's mental health charity Young Minds has launched a campaign to urge fathers to seek help when they are concerned about their children.

Project co-ordinator Daryl Nicholas said, 'Nine out of every ten parentswho call our helpline are mothers. We want fathers to get the messagethat it's OK for them to be concerned about their children, and to takeaction. They don't have to leave it to mothers.'

Using comedy as a way to engage fathers with their children's emotionalwell-being, the Those Young Minds message will be delivered in astand-up show from award-winning comedian John Ryan. It will preview atLeicester Comedy Festival in February, with a London premiere in Marchand a national tour.
