Ofsted and the Ministry of Defence have agreed procedures to speed up the registration of childminders who transfer frequently between the UK and overseas bases. The new procedures are designed to reduce the difficulties faced by service family members who are registered childminders. In England they are regulated by Ofsted, while on overseas bases they are registered and inspected by two organisations accredited by the MoD: the British Forces Early Years Service and Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association Forces Help.
