Use photographs to track how the children have grown since babyhood.

Find out about past and present events in their own lives and in those of their families

Use talk to organise, sequence and clarify thinking, ideas, feelings and events

Resources

Photographs of the children as babies or toddlers, recent photographs of the children, books about growing up, a selection of objects relating to babies such as bottle, nappy, bib, rattle, tiny clothes, speech bubble, pens and pencils, A4 coloured card.

Preparation

At least one week before the planned activity on growth, ask parents and carers to contribute one labelled photograph of their child as a baby or toddler. If necessary, be prepared to scan the photograph so that the original can be returned undamaged.
