Nurseries urged to plant bulbs for charity

Provision
Children are invited to get their hands dirty and grow their own daffodil to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Mini Pots of Care is open to nurseries and schools, and designed to teach children from three-years-old about science and nature, as well as the work of Marie Curie nurses.

The project invites children to plant a daffodil bulb in their own mini pot in the autumn and care for it throughout the winter months.

In the spring, early years settings and schools hold a Mini Pots of Care Day when children paint their pots and sell their daffodils in bloom to parents to raise money for the charity.

Settings who take part receive a free fundraising pack with information and ideas.

Since Mini Pots of Care launched seven years ago, over 17,900 nurseries and schools have taken part and raised more than £2.2 million for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
