Catherine Flynn has been lead practitioner at Rompers Nursery for thepast 17 years and was awarded her Early Years Professional Status in2007. Once she achieved that, she then mentored two of her staff whowere training for their NVQ Level 4.
Catherine really listens to the parents and responds to the children'sneeds. This has led to her acquiring a specialist chair for a boy withcerebral palsy so he can join in table-top activities. She also boughtan adapted bike for a child with mobility difficulties, who had beenunable to join in and play with the other children properly before.
Catherine has supported a family whose six-year-old son had died bymaking a story bag with characters so their two-year-old daughter couldtell them how she was feeling.
