
GRADUATION DAY
Nurseries across the country have been saying goodbye to their pre-school children leaving to start school next term. Crossens Nursery School in Southport (top), kidsunlimited in North Cheam, and Little Acorns in Washington (middle), Tyne and Wear (bottom), held graduation ceremonies for parents and family members.
At Henry's Kindergarten in Winchester (below), children dressed in their best clothes to attend a special party with games and activities.
STRAWBERRY TEA
The Sunshine Nursery in Worthing, West Sussex, raised more than £150 for charity Save the Children by holding a strawberry tea with parents. They enjoyed homemade scones and strawberries that the children had got the day before from a local pick-your-own farm. The tea also marked the grand opening of the nursery's new sensory garden and wildlife area, made possible with a grant from the local authority.
OPEN FOR CHARITY
Clever Clogs Nursery in Bowburn, County Durham, hosted an open day to raise money for their chosen charity, the Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary's children's clinic. Along with the many activities on offer, the open day also gave children and their families a chance to explore the newly refurbished setting.
CARNIVAL TIME
Children, parents and staff from Alphabet House Day Nursery in Beeston, Nottingham, took part in the town's carnival parade, for which they were one of the main sponsors.
BOB IN THE GARDEN
Chichester Montessori nursery in West Sussex welcomed Sponge Bob Square Pants to officially open the nursery garden after it had a make-over. The revamped play area, funded by a capital grant from West Sussex County Council, includes a new climbing frame, sandpit area and all-weather play surface.
TEDDY ON THE FARM
More than 1,300 children, parents and staff from 23 pre-schools across the country came together for the largest ever teddy bears' picnic. The picnic celebrated the Pre-school Learning Alliance's 50th anniversary and took place on Jimmy's Farm in Ipswich, Suffolk, run by celebrity farmer Jimmy Doherty and his wife Michaela.
GLORIOUS
Children at Early Years Childcare in Greenwich, London, loved getting messy and down to earth for the World Forum's International Mud Day on 29 June.
