The Montessori philosophy and apparatus Workshop

A two-week workshop giving comprehensive practical experience of all the Montessori nursery materials and an overview of Montessori's philosophy.

There will be a practical examination on 14 August. Sessions are held daily from 10am to 4pm, with optional supervised practice time with materials also provided (at no extra charge). The course begins with an overview of Montessori's philosophy, then looks at child development, sensorial materials and mathematics, literacy, cultural and scientific subjects, and creative and artistic subjects. The weekends are designated as optional practice days.

York. Cost: 575. A 75 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a full place. Cost for a single day is 58 (excludes practice days/must be paid in advance). Problem solving in new babies

This training event looks at the causes, effects and solutions for problems such as not sleeping, feeding difficulties, colic and reflux, with a baby massage workshop in the afternoon. Suitable for nursery nurses, nannies, maternity nurses, parents and all baby carers.
