Packed lunches less nutritious than school dinners

The nutritional content of packed lunches needs to be improved in line with school dinners, says the School Food Trust. A study it carried out with primary schools in Sheffield found that children taking a school meal were 66 per cent more likely to be eating vegetables, more likely to be eating fruit and bread and less likely to be eating sweets and snacks than those having packed lunches.
