Parents unprepared for stress of first day at pre-school

Parents find their child's first day at pre-school as stressful as their wedding day, and one in four admit to being unprepared for the milestone, according to new research by children's communication charity I CAN.

It published a survey of 1,200 parents to coincide with the launch ofReady Steady Talk, a free activity pack designed to help preparechildren for pre-school. The pack, part of I CAN's Make Chatter Mattercampaign, includes games for children and advice and information forparents. It can be ordered online at www.ican.org.uk.
