The Department for Education and Skills is running a series of regional events for the officers this month, to enable networking and problem solving. The BSOs have been appointed by Early Years Development and Childcare Partnerships using funding allocated through their childcare grants. They will help partnerships develop strategies for sustainable provision, help providers become viable without depending on partnership funding, equip them with self-financing skills and build links to establish new group-based childcare in disadvantaged areas.
