Partnerships to get business support advice

* Business Support Officers (BSOs) have been appointed in childcare partnerships across England to help providers with money matters. The Department for Education and Skills is running a series of regional events for the officers this month, to enable networking and problem solving. The BSOs have been appointed by Early Years Development and Childcare Partnerships using funding allocated through their childcare grants. They will help partnerships develop strategies for sustainable provision, help providers become viable without depending on partnership funding, equip them with self-financing skills and build links to establish new group-based childcare in disadvantaged areas. For more details e-mail janet.barfield@dfes.gsi.gov.uk or call the DfES on 020 7273 1166.
