Setting up a museum provided children with rich pickings, says Brenda McDonald, nursery teacher at Airyhall Nursery, Aberdeen Children at Airyhall Nursery in Aberdeen became curators when they planned and opened their own museum in the school hall for a day.

We held the event as part of ongoing Enterprise Education in the school.

The aim of Enterprise Education is to develop life skills such as decision-making, teamworking, communicating and negotiating. We need to start young in encouraging creativity and adaptability to help the children appreciate what they can achieve with a 'can do' attitude.

All the children were enthusiastic in helping to plan the museum and we had many lively discussions as the idea came into fruition.
