Peaceful play

Woodcraft Folk, the national voluntary organisation for children from six years old, has recently put together a War Toys Amnesty Action Pack, as part of its campaign against violent toys. Through storytelling, drama, co-operative games and arts and crafts, children will be encouraged to think about the issues of war and the positive aspects of peace. When the sessions come to an end the children are asked to 'surrender' their violent toys and use them for something creative, such as a peace sculpture. Although designed for use within Woodcraft Folk groups, the pack is also available to other organisations for a small fee. More information from Andy Piercy on 020 8672 6031
