* The RSPCA has launched four new children's books in its Perfect Pets series. The new characters - Hamish the hamster, Ruff the lively dog, Chalk and Cheese the mice and Cassie the posh cat - are designed to educate children about the responsibilities of pet ownership. The characters are also available to buy as soft toys. Books cost 2.99 each from local bookshops and the RSPCA will receive a percentage from each book sold.
