Pre-five and primary school services in Glasgow are to be redesigned in a 50m investment plan

Pre-five and primary school services in Glasgow are to be redesigned in a 50m investment plan. The money will create nine new primary schools, each with its own pre-five facilities, which will be built in line with the Scottish Executive's integrated community schools model for early years care. Ten council nurseries will close, amalgamate or move and two special educational needs schools will be moved. The City Council says the rebuilding is necessary because of falling pupil numbers and crumbling buildings that are increasingly difficult to maintain.
