The competition is open to any student studying part- or full-time for an early years education or childcare qualification. Last year's winner, Begona Rodriguez Rey (pictured) from Croydon Continuing Education and Training Service, was praised for her strong focus on children's core needs. This year's winner will receive a cheque for 300 and a year's subscription to Nursery World, plus 300 of Heinemann book vouchers for their college.
