Professional wage

Early years workers in day nurseries and pre-schools undertake just as much training and vetting as many other early years professionals, but are not considered an important asset. Often we do a full-time job for part-time wages. While I understand there is not much money to be made in childcare, if we are not paid professional wages, then how can we earn the professional status we deserve?
