Nursery nurse Joyce Pickton was named regional Teaching Assistant of the Year at the 2007 Teaching Awards, given at a celebrity-studded ceremony this month by the Teaching Awards Trust. Joyce was praised for her motto, 'You can do it!', having inspired many of the children she has worked with in ten years at St George's CE Primary School in London, and for the extensive programme of clubs she runs.
