What you need:

* A treasure basket or collection of small and familiar objects

What you do:

1 Sit opposite the baby on the floor. Choose an object from the basket.

2 Offer it to the baby and encourage them to take hold of it.

3 Hold your hand out for the object and say 'Give the ... to me.' Encourage them by touching the object to attract their attention. Wait to see if they give the object to you. Praise them if they do - smile and say 'Good boy/girl, you gave me the ... Thank you.'
