The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is concerned that the new lawwhich comes into effect on 6 April will harm small firms by making themunable to retain or employ extra staff and are urging the Government tohold off on passing the new legislation until October at theearliest.
They claim that extending the right to flexible working will cost smallbusinesses 61m.
But Sally Gimson, communications director at the Family and ParentingInstitute (FPI), said, 'Parents have told us they want to be able towork flexibly. It makes a massive difference to their family life, andcan help improve their financial situation by saving them money onchildcare.'
