Rural centres offered cash from Europe

* Rural communities across Britain are invited to submit bids to a European Community fund which supports small-scale, innovative solutions to problems such as lack of childcare facilities. One area which has already benefited from the Leader+ scheme is Bayton near Kidderminster in the West Midlands, where a derelict dairy was converted into a community centre providing childcare and opportunities for work and training.

One area which has already benefited from the Leader+ scheme is Bayton near Kidderminster in the West Midlands, where a derelict dairy was converted into a community centre providing childcare and opportunities for work and training.

Applications to the scheme are made by community partnerships, which could be based on existing partnerships such as EYDCPs or could be specially formed to submit the bid.
