Spotlight on ... Emily Paul, nursery manager

Careers & Training
Name: Emily Paul

Position: Temporary manager at Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery in Acton, London

- What achievements have you had at the nursery?

Since taking on the role of maternity cover manager in September I have increased the number of children at the nursery from six to 26, got a good result in our Ofsted inspection and in October opened the under-twos' room, which is nearly full.

- What do you think makes the nursery so successful?

We offer a really nice environment and have a great team of staff, who know the children really well.

- What are your plans for the future?

I am currently doing my Level 4, which I am due to finish ahead of schedule in September. I am also looking into getting funding from the local authority to do my degree. In the future I hope to become an area manager and to help nurseries achieve best practice.
