The manager left for other employment. Originally three mums took thegroup on but found it too much, with looking after their own children aswell. Two other grandmothers and I agreed that we would take over, as wehad always helped make teas and coffees and packed equipment away.

- How long did you work as a nursery nurse?

For 15 years in an infants school and a private nursery. I didn't reallywant to retire, but moved from Lancashire to Lincolnshire to be nearerto my grandchildren. I plan to run the toddler group as long as I can, even if they have to push me in in a wheelchair.
