Spotlight on ... Paul Samouelle

Position: Joint owner of Treehouse Nurseries, Wanstead, East London

Why did you decide to convert a church into a nursery?

It has taken almost eight months and cost nearly £400,000 in refurbishment. We are passionate about historic buildings in Wanstead. It will be the third Treehouse nursery.

How is the nursery looking, and how has it been received?

Absolutely stunning. We have seven classrooms, an indoor adventure section, and people on the waiting list already. We have had 35 viewings in the past two weekends. All the feedback we have received has been very positive, and the locals are pleased that we are giving something back to the community.

What are you hopes for the nursery?

We want children and parents to turn up with a smile and leave with a smile. Our aim is to provide a good service to the people of Wanstead, and we feel we can do this because we know the market so well. It's a large nursery, and will have 120 places for children. We don't have further expansion plans, because we don't want to take our eye off the ball.
