What is Geo Journey?
Geo Journey is an educational subscription service, which takes children on a learning journey around the world. It begins with a starter kit containing a world map, scrapbook, passport, stickers and a travel bag. Children meet the characters Geo and Atlas, a cartoon owl and loveable puppy, and then follow their adventures as they travel to 12 global destinations. Every month Geo and Atlas send letters, pictures and a souvenir, teaching children about the cultures and landmarks in each country.
What was your inspiration for this resource?
It started out as a project to get my own children (then aged two and four) interested in geography in a fun and creative way. So my daughter Willow was involved all the way through. I was amazed by her reaction to the maps, she was fascinated by them even at four. I think the early years are an ideal time to give children images of different places and build on their imaginations.
