Spring date for latest EPPE results

The latest findings from the long-term study Effective Provision of Pre-School Education (EPPE) are expected to be released before Easter. The EPPE 3-11 study extends the original project by tracking more than 2,400 children to the end of Key Stage 2 to determine the impact of pre-school education.

The EPPE 3-11 study extends the original project by tracking more than 2,400 children to the end of Key Stage 2 to determine the impact of pre-school education.

Tier 2 of the three-tier project looks at the long-term effects of pre-school on children and what happens to the benefits of good pre-school experiences on children attending a less effective primary school. It will also examine whether children with limited or no experience of pre-school 'catch up' if they attend a good primary school.

EPPE researchers have also contributed evidence to the final report of the Equalities Review, due at the end of February, investigating the causes of persistent discrimination and inequality in British society.
