Sure Start minister Catherine Ashton

(Photograph) - Sure Start minister Catherine Ashton met children, parents and staff when she officially opened the 520,000 extension at the Rebecca Cheetham Nursery Education Centre in Stratford, east London, at the end of the last month. The centre has a newly designed garden, a training suite for staff development and family learning, a creche that enables parents to take part in courses, and a sensory room, which is a particular favourite of children who have special needs. Baroness Ashton praised the 'excellent provision' and said many parents in Stratford would benefit from it. Photo by Steve Hickey
