Survey of children in regulated services

Children in regulated services including care homes, fostering agencies and residential special schools in England are to be asked about their experiences in a national consultation programme conducted by the children's rights director of the National Care Standards Commission (NCSC). Dr Roger Morgan and the NCSC's children's rights team will visit a random selection of regulated establishments across England asking children of all ages and backgrounds about welfare support, health and education. Dr Morgan said, 'It is vital that we listen to children to ensure services are working with each child as an individual, not with children as a homogenous group.' He said that all children across the country will have the chance to contribute during two major events next year and via a specially-designed website.
