I had been experiencing personal difficulties, home and work pressures and, as my employer at the time had not yet discovered the value of family-friendly policies or work-life balance, it was becoming very difficult to juggle everything on my own.

I began to explore the idea of self-employment in childcare. Jacquie Hughes had been a work colleague for many years and having achieved a primary school teaching qualification earlier in her career, was looking for an opportunity to move into the childcare sector. We decided to join forces and set up a childcare business.
