The aim of the survey is to gain a picture of early years settings' experiences of inspection under the new EIF framework, and whether there has been an impact on grades and business. All responses to the survey are anonymous.
Nursery World reported earlier in the week that some nurseries are being downgraded due to a lack of staff or because settings are using bank staff more regularly who may not be familiar with the children in their care.
It comes after an open letter to the inspectorate in November raised concerns about the ‘negative’ inspection experience of early years settings. Signed by nearly 600 people, including leading early years experts and teaching unions, the letter suggests that some of Ofsted’s ‘confused approaches’ have led to ‘harrowing’ inspections and led to some practitioners and managers resigning or taking long periods of sick leave due to stress.
