Tell the politicians some home truths

When is a nanny not a nanny? When she's a 'home childcarer', if the Government goes ahead with its latest plan to avoid registering nannies. Under this proposal, parents will be able to claim tax credit for employing someone in their home to look after their children - but only if that carer is a registered childminder first, who then has to pass a second inspection. This idea has already caused some confusion, since the great attraction of becoming a childminder is to be able to work in your own home, while also looking after your own family. Nannies who want to become registered childminders can do so already, as long as they have the premises.
