Nurseries, schools, bookshops, libraries and community groups will be hosting events across the country on 13 September to mark the birthday of children’s author Roald Dahl.
Party packs for older and younger children based on James and the Giant Peachand The Enormous Crocodile are free to download or order online (www.roalddahl.com/roald-dahl-day).
Children and staff can take part in a Dahlicious Dress Up Day (www.dahliciousdressupday.org) and wear the costume of their favourite character in exchange for a £1 donation to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity.
Meanwhile, London’s Natural History Museum’s James and the Giant Weekend will take place on 8-9 September with opportunities to learn more from bug detectives about James’s minibeast friends and make wearable antennae.
