In June 2002 the Sure Start local programme and 58-place nursery, run bycharity St Paul's Community Development Trust, joined up to becomeBalsall Heath Children's Centre.
Reminiscing about its opening, manager of early years services SuzanneDowner said, 'To finally have a purpose-built nursery was very excitingfor staff, children and their parents. We have really been able to useour knowledge and expertise over the years to provide a stimulatinglearning environment, catering for the ever-changing needs of thecommunity.'
