The combined MMR vaccine is safe

The combined MMR vaccine is safe and does not cause autism in children, according to a report from the MMR expert group established by the Scottish Executive. However, the group is calling for more research into autism and Crohn's disease. The group's chairman, the Very Reverend Graham Forbes, said, 'There is clear scientific evidence that autistic spectrum disorder affects many more people than has generally been recognised - around 30,000 in Scotland. We have urged the Scottish Executive to improve the range and quality of services provided for children with autism.'
