However, I noticed in 'Security controls' (19 April) it says that a good policy states how students and volunteers are not counted in the ratios. But regular volunteers who have satisfied checks for suitability can in fact be counted in the staffing ratios, as stated in the national standards. This should be clarified, because volunteers play a crucial role in some settings, including my own.
