Originally called ‘Go Wild’, the nursery was closed permanently last year. It has been reregistered as Welcome Nursery @ Crompton Street, with the group's build team on site this week to carry out refurbishment for a July opening. Staff have been interviewed.

The nursery will offer 205 childcare places, making it one of the largest nurseries in the UK.

This acquisition brings the total number of childcare places in the group to 700.

Director Linda Cuddy said, ‘We are delighted with this nursery as it’s in a prominent town-centre position and has the potential to become central to the childcare community in Bury.'

Welcome’s other settings are in Preston, Leyland, Swinton, Blackburn and two in Colchester.

Little Footprints in Swinton was acquired in April and the group has three further acquisitions close to completion this month.
