West Midlands group plans local expansion

Business Management Provision
Staffordshire-based chain Footsteps Day Nurseries has acquired two more nurseries, with plans to open another nursery next year.

The deal means that the group now owns eight nurseries and one out-of-school club. All are based in Staffordshire, except for one setting in Warwickshire.

Owners Gavin and Catherine Harvey started the group 12 years ago and have grown it gradually from a 20-place nursery to offering more than 550 places and employing 190 people.

Four of the group’s existing settings are graded outstanding and two are good.

The two newly acquired settings - based in Fazeley, also in Tamworth, and Cannock in Staffordshire - are leasehold properties and were previously part of the Happy Tots group, which has now closed.

The nurseries were sold through specialist property adviser Christie + Co within ten working days.
