Just a reply to all those who have complained about nursery managers needing a degree. The 'university of life' is not such a great university for everyone. It does not necessarily teach you everything you need to know or put you in an environment where you can study something deeply. If you rely on your experience, that is all you have, your experience. At university you benefit from the experience, studies and experiments of many others.

It seems a shame that the main route for a nursery nurse to advance has been removed. Can't nurseries do better and give staff other ways to advance or help them do degrees?
