Any practitioner searching for reading material to support a dinosaur topic will not be disappointed. There is no shortage of quality literature (both fiction and non-fiction) that will both engage and enthral children. The internet also offers a wide range of screen-based reading opportunities.
An excellent story to begin with is Tom and The Island of Dinosaurs by Ian Beck. Tom lives with his grandfather in a lighthouse at the edge of the sea. One day he discovers a message in a bottle, from a girl stranded on the island of the dinosaurs. Tom sets off to rescue her in a hot-air balloon. The rescue, not without its moments of tension, is ultimately successful, and the story is drawn to a very satisfying conclusion.
