Seminars and resources especially for the early years sector are showcased at next month's exhibition. Karen Faux looks ahead.

Early years products and services are enjoying a high profile at thisyear's TES Education 2008, taking place at Olympia in London from 10 to11 October.

The show provides almost 300 exhibitors and six seminar zones, with over60 CPD training sessions spanning key areas such as the EYFS andsynthetic phonics.

A Policy in Practice zone provides information and advice fromorganisations such as the Institute of Education, University of Londonand the TDA. Leading educational publishers are gathered together in thePublishing Zone.

Resources supplier NES Arnold has created a 60-square metre classroom inOlympia's main hall, where Number Fun will present a series ofinteractive 'maths-with-a-difference' lessons involving cowboys, copsand robbers, cheeky monkeys, and singing and dancing for children andteachers.

Galt Educational is supporting the National Year of Reading 2008 withpractical advice on how to create dedicated reading areas in primaryclassrooms and early years settings. As part of this it is showing itsnew, vinyl Milan range of furniture, and a Fire Station wooden bookcasedesigned to attract boys to the reading area.

Resources supplier Step by Step is launching its Creation Station rangeof themed mats which can be used for road, sea and farm role-play areas.For under-threes there is the Baby Soft Set, designed to stimulate theprimary senses.
