World School Milk Day

World School Milk Day on 24 September aimed to raise children's awareness of the nutritional value of milk, and educate them about where the milk on their table comes from. The worldwide event is supported by the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organisation. Children across the UK were encouraged to dress up and design posters without letting the fun disguise the serious message of the day. Jon Thornes, head of the company Cool Milk At School, said, 'Drinking milk can protect against many diseases which occur in later life. Hopefully World School Milk Day will help children understand how important milk is.'
