Letter of the week - Be forward looking

I have been a supporter of pusher-facing buggies for a long time and Ipass the message on whenever and wherever I can.

However, a walk along my local high street took me past the toy shop, and a very proud three-year-old came out with her doll in a new buggyfacing away from her. Child and parents walked down the street and outcame the mobile phone. Not the parents', but the child's toy mobile. Theparents smiled and looked on adoringly as their child chatted away onthe phone, pausing occasionally to tell the doll to 'be quiet'.

We all know that we are role models for children, so maybe we couldstart by having pusher-facing buggies for dolls first, and hope that themessage is set in place at an early stage of life.
