Your shout

Many thanks to everyone who responded to our reader survey in May's issue.Your answers do give us valuable information to help tailor Professional Nanny to your interests. We especially appreciated the reader who, under 'anything else you'd like to see more of in the magazine', said 'naked men' (a sense of humour is essential in nannying! - actually, maybe that's not such a bad idea). And thanks to the reader who, for 'eventual working goals', said 'be a mother myself' (hear, hear - every mother is a working mother!) Some surprising findings were that 'live-in' nannies seem to be a disappearing breed. Less surprising is that you want to see more on jobs in other parts of the country outside of London and the south-east. The demand for hired childcare must be rising everywhere, so how do nannies meet it? Agencies, step forward, and nannies in the regions, let us know you're there too. Another thing widely desired by readers is going to have to be supplied by readers themselves. Everyone wants to hear from real nannies for their ideas, experiences or friendship contacts - but real nannies have to get in touch with us first! We'd also love to have an agony aunt or problem page - if we could hear real nannies' problems, rather than make up hypothetical ones. So get writing! Likewise, you'd like to see more activities that nannies can do at home with children, and so would we - and we'll pay for it if you can turn your favourite activity into a clearly-explained written article.
