Following a year of anxiety, hard work and determination, I think we were all truly delighted with last month's Early Years Foundation Stage Profile results.
I am pleased that there have been such significant improvements at national and local level in children's outcomes in the crucial first years of life. This shows the positive impact that the Early Years Foundation Stage is having. I know that for some of you it has been a challenging year, but I think we all have something to celebrate.
These successes have only been possible because of the dedication and hard work of your teams and of every professional working in early years. I am very grateful to you for your tireless efforts in implementing the EYFS and also our wider early years reforms. Together this has enabled unprecedented levels of investment to be turned into tangible results for children and families.
