When children at Finchley Reform Synagogue Kindergarten in London chose the topics of ‘fish’ and ‘eyes’, their teachers organised a class visit to the local supermarket to give the children the experience of buying a fish.
Back at Kindergarten, the children used their senses to explore the fish. They dissected it, taking out its eyes, guts and bones. Afterwards they grilled and ate it.
