Position: Area manager, Stretch-n-Grow

Why did you decide to leave your job in a clothes shop to work as a Stretch-n-Grow coach?

I've danced all my life, and exercise and fitness were always big passions of mine, so incorporating them into a job was always high on my list. Becoming a mum made me realise the importance of instilling good habits in children from a young age. In this day and age, when computers and TV screens dominate, it's great that the lessons can be fun, but also teach important underlying principles.

What does your job involve?

I started off as a coach, and now I still teach classes on Fridays, but the rest of the week I manage coaches and communicate with nurseries and schools so we can support each other - for example, I send out posters explaining our monthly themes.

Why do you enjoy working for the company?

It's so much more fulfilling than what I was doing previously. Even if you're not in the best mood, you can't fail to feed off the children's excitement and enthusiasm. The positive welcome you receive as soon as you walk in to a class is something you can't put a price on.
