Little bird Peep is woken to the sound of beautiful singing. It isn't owl, or mouse, or frog that is making the glorious noise. It is the dawn chorus, and Peep is determined to join. His audition doesn't go well, though, as he discovers he is a little nightingale, so singing in the morning just isn't for him.
While this book offers positive messages about belonging and discovering your skills and talents, best of all is that it provides a lovely reminder to children to open their ears to all the sounds around them.
