By Marta Altes (Macmillan Children's Books, hardback, £11.99)

Cat, king of the house, is incredulous. He doesn't know what he's done wrong but clearly he's upset 'his people', as they've gone out and got a dog - a stupid, annoying dog who doesn't understand the house rules and is starting to grab all the attention. But when dog goes out for a walk, the house seems far too quiet and cat realises compromise might be the best option.
